Kodak competitions for student filmmakers

Kodak, whose sponsorship helps to make our fabulous show in Cannes possible, has a couple of competitions which we thought would interest film school students.

The Kodak Film School Cinematography Competition focus is on film cinematography and the innovative use of available resources to create images which complement the story.

The competition runs in various participating countries and film schools. There are two different categories to enter your film into — the S8/S16 National Competitions and the 35mm Worldwide Competition.

The winning S8/S16 film from each national competition will then be judged at a regional level. Three regional winners will be selected. The 35mm films will be judged at a worldwide level only. There will be one winning 35mm film.
The three winners of the regional competitions, and the worldwide 35mm winner will be awarded a trip to Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in early 2012. The prize includes a single round trip economy ticket to Clermont-Ferrand and accommodation. The 35mm and regional competitions runners-up will receive a $2000 (USD) product grant toward Kodak Motion Picture Film.
The 2011 winners will be announced in by November 1, 2011.
Our first 2010 Featured Winner – “Los Trashumantes” by Massimo Bettarelli, is from Mexico.
