Written and Directed by Ross Allen, this film started as a personal thank you to healthcare workers and became a nationwide production. From concept to completion, it took two weeks and didn’t cost a penny.

Twenty four filmmakers from across Canada donated their time and talent to create a ‘love letter’ to healthcare workers. The film has been gifted to fundraising charity CanadaHelps. It is being used as the flagpole marketing campaign for their “COVID-19 healthcare and hospital fund”, supported by Gore Mutual. This free production has the power to help raise over $2m for our healthcare workers across Canada.

Every shoot was conducted within the local government guidelines, each person shooting solo, keeping social distance, and only filming people they were isolated with.

Brendo+Gonfiantini is a duo of emergent directors, formed by Brendo Garcia, a self-taught production designer, and Adriano Gonfiantini, director of photography. They are based in Paris and represented by LANDIA and Great Guns.

“Whilst in Lockdown I decided to teach myself how to make stop-frame animations – calling them my ‘Corona Creations’. I’ve been focussing on food typography – animating words completely created out of foods and ingredients I have in my store cupboard during lockdown. All styling, shooting, lighting was completed by myself in isolation.”
